Continuing Education and the Medico-Legal Society

Medico-Legal Society events count toward continuing education credits for members of the Society who are solicitors and for medical members of the Society who make CPD returns to one of the three Royal Colleges of Physicians.

Members should simply ensure that they comply with the procedures laid down by their professional body for attendance at events run by certified providers. In particular, all professions require that members sign in and the Society will retain records for inspection by the professional body according to the appropriate rules.

Members' personal returns will differ in method, but at particular events the necessary information will be available.

Solicitors and barristers gain 1.25 CPD points towards their annual requirement for attendance at each lecture and discussion.
For physicians, an event number for the purposes of claiming either clinical or non-clinical credits. Physicians may split the credits between personal and external activities depending on the specialty of the doctor.
