MEETINGS CANCELLED DURING PANDEMIC BUT JOURNAL CONTINUES WITH SPECIAL EDITION
Members will appreciate that due to Covid-19 pandemic , the Society’s normal meetings and Annual Dinner will not take place until further notice.
However the next edition of the Medico-Legal Journal should be published as usual in June, both in print and online. The greater part of the forthcoming issue will be devoted to the Coronavirus pandemic. Contributions have been received from members and from around the world .
Meanwhile, the latest edition (Volume 88 Part 1) has been published. It features Sir Robert Francis’s Presidential Address on “Medical Professionalism in the 21st Century.” There are several contributions from Italy including a paper comparing homicide of prostitutes with those of women in the general population; an interesting article from authors at Imperial College and King Edward VII hospital on the need for better support for foundation year doctors; a contribution from members of the Department of Forensic Medicine in Tehran on the Insanity Defence to murder in bipolar patients; a discussion of Needle Injuries to women in Nepal and an analysis by a group of British authors of 609 Non-Whiplash soft-tissue injuries arising from low-impact road traffic accidents.
