This year’s Minty Lecture on 10 October 2023 was to have been delivered by the Rt. Hon. The Lord Judge who was Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales from 2008 to 2013. Because of ill health, Lord Judge was unable to deliver his lecture. Subsequently, the Society was very saddened to hear that Lord Judge had died on 7 November 2023 aged 82. He is survived by his wife, Judith, one son and two daughters to whom the Society sends its deepest sympathy. The President has written to Lady Judge on behalf of the Society. This year’s Minty Lecture was given by Dr. Michael Powers KC, BSc, MB BS, DA, FFFLM LLD (Hon). on 14 March 2024 on “Medicine and law – A view from both sides”.
